How To Brush Your Dog’s Teeth

Every dog owner should know how to brush their dog’s teeth to ensure proper dog dental care.

Poor dog dental care can lead to other health problems including liver, heart, and kidney disease so it’s important to maintain a regular dog teeth cleaning schedule.

Buy a dog toothbrush. There are toothbrushes for small dogs and large dogs.

Also buy dog toothpaste. The best dog toothpaste to buy is one that your dog likes. Dog toothpastes come in different flavors including beef and poultry. Dog toothpastes are formulated specially for dogs and can be ingested without stomach upset.

Brush your dog’s upper teeth (outside and inside) at a 45-degree angle near the gum line. That’s where plaque accumulates. Also pay particular attention to the back teeth. Do the same thing with the lower teeth.

Then brush the chewing surfaces.

Brush your dog’s teeth weekly and schedule annual dog teeth cleaning with your vet.
